Peasant Paintings from Huhsien County in China's Shensi Province
The exhibition presents works by two renown artists from Central China. Wang Shengli’s luscious application of colour and pattern in the dress of his subjects give a survey of different cultures in China. Pan Xiao Dong’s landscapes are of locations in Central China. But the places could easily be in Canada. Pan Xiao Dong, artist and Dean of Oil Painting Department, Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, China will be in attendance at the opening. This event is presented as part of a China-Canada exhibition exchange between these artists and Canadian artist, Sandra Hawkins. "Windows from China" is also exhibiting vibrant and colourful paintings of peasant artists from Huhsien County in China's Shensi Province.
Opening: Thursday, August 4th, 2005 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m |
