Eleanor Duncanson and Wendy Trethewey share many things: a voracious wanderlust, passion for the land, great artistic talent, and... the same canvas.  In a creative collaboration, these two renowned Ottawa artists combine their art experience to create intimate yet explosive travel vistas, documenting decades of global journeys.

ELENDY - ELEanor and WeNDY - say of their partnership, "As artists, we travel, observe, absorb, return home, and paint what has been incubating within us.  Acting as one, we create more powerful and immediate expressions."  From this artistic duet comes a deeply personal, resonant visual love song to many of the world's most beautiful destinations -The Carribbean Islands, France, Portugal, Australia and Mexico.

"ELEANOR and WENDY: An Artistic Journey. Carnets de voyage" features both individual and collaborative works celebrating the sheer joy of travel, while transporting patrons to the world's most striking places through the eyes of two artists.

Eleanor Duncanson is a native Nova Scotian now residing in Perth, Ontario.  She specializes in large-format oil paintings of landscapes and florals for public access spaces.  In the Ottawa area, she includes among her clients, the Westin Hotel, for whom she produced nine large oil landscapes that hang in their Provincial meeting rooms.  The land has held a magnetic fascination for her as an artist and she is totally focused on trying to capture her feelings of excitement at the beauty of that particular landscape.

Although based in Ottawa, Wendy Trethewey has traveled extensively and considers her experiences to other countries such as Australia, Europe and Mexico as being instrumental in her development as an artist. As a portraitist, she has painted hundreds of commissions for the military, institutions and private clients.  She is also a miniaturist whose work has won Best of Show. As a military artist, her work is represented in the permanent collection of the Canadian War Museum and she is amongst the other living artists in its collection who is featured in the museum’s oral history. She is also a Premier Pastelist, awarded by the Pastel Society of Canada. She is represented by Calligrammes and her work is in private and public collections throughout Canada, USA, Australia and England.
