Grethe Lauesen and Peter Hiort Petersen moved to Sault Ste Marie from Denmark in 1975. They taught art at Sault College of Applied art and Technology in almost 13 years. Maya Hiort Petersen was born during the years in Sault Ste Marie. After 28 years in Canada, they all moved back to Denmark, where they live now, in the city of Svaneke.

“An echo is a reflection of a sound, but in this exhibition it is a reflection of pictures and memories. Reflections are often distorted by the surroundings, by the place, time and emotions. The artwork on display are distorted reflections of our memories but recreated spontaneous and free.” |
