“The "Forest Floor" is a space where you are alone in nature; it is where you stand in the moment. Before and behind you is the forest, above you empty space, beneath your feet is the ground where you make your stand and yet you are in all four dimensions at once with no separation between you and your surroundings.” (Christopher Lea Dunning, 2009)
Christopher Lea Dunning has been painting for twenty five years since graduating from The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax and Carleton University in Ottawa. He has also studied with Chan Ky-Yut. He has work in private and public collections including that of the city of Ottawa and External Affairs. Christopher Lea Dunning looks for a synthesis of painting that is devoid of imitation and memory where the painting is the experience itself.
